Chocolate Peanut Butter S’mores Bars

My second installment in gooey S’mores Bars!
This one is for all you lovers of chocolate and peanut butter
I know there’s a lot of you out there!!! Including me!

Chocolate Peanut Butter S’mores Bars

Ingredients
  • 1 box Devil’s Food cake mix
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4-1/2 full graham crackers
  • 1-2/3 cup Peanut Butter chips
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with tin foil and spray with cooking spray. Make sure the foil goes up over the edges, your pan will be full!!
  2. Place cake mix, egg and butter into a large mixing bowl. Mixing with hands until a nice dough forms (I did end up using my KitchenAid for this…quicker, easier and cleaner). Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Layer with graham crackers, PB chips then marshmallows
  4. Top with remaining half of dough pressing evenly
  5. Drizzle sweetened condensed milk over the top
  6. Bake for 28-33 minutes, until cooked through and golden brown on top {Mine started to get a little too golden before it was finished cooking, so I placed a sheet of foil over the top of the pan so it would continue to cook, but the top wouldn’t burn. If you need to do this, make sure it is just placed on top, not secured to the pan}
  7. Remove from oven. let cool for 5 minutes then take a plastic knife and run along the edges to loosen. Let cool completely then remove bars from pan with foil edges
  8. Cut bars into squares and serve

These were equally delicious when compared to my White Chocolate S’mores Bars but had a different texture. Interestingly enough the crust was more cake like. Next time I’ll use less PB chips and more marshmallow. I like mine to be extra ooey gooey!
