Oreo Cheesecake

Sorry this has taken so long for me to post…since I told you about it last week!

We’ve been busy with our etsy page

On to the dessert at hand!

Cheesecake has always seemed so daunting to make!

Dont ask me why, but it has
I got a spring form pan for Christmas and hadn’t used it…until now! 6 months later

Note: Don’t make a cheesecake the day of an event…make it at least 24 hours before you need/want to eat it.

This was an awesome recipe to start out with!

Crust
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups Oreo Cookie Crumbs (about 23 Oreo cookies finely chopped-at least)
2 Tbsp melted butter

Instructions
Mix melted butter and Oreo crumbs and press in spring pan
Cover the bottom and 1-1/2″ up the sides with crumbs, set aside.

Filling
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds cream cheese (3 8ox packages)
1 cup sugar
5 large eggs
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 c flour
8 oz sour cream
5 Oreo cookies coarsely chopped (for the batter)
10 coarsely chopped Oreo cookies for the top of the cheesecake
Instructions
VERY IMPORTANT all ingredients need to be at room temperature before beginning
Beat the cream cheese on a low speed until light and fluffy
Add sugar gradually and continue mixing together until mixed well
Add one egg at a time-continue to mix until blended
Pour the vanilla, salt and flour into cream cheese and egg mixture
Beat until smooth
Add sour cream, beat well.
Turn off mixer and stir in the 5 coarsely chopped Oreo’s with a spoon
Pour cream cheese into the spring form pan and place the remaining coarsely chopped Oreo cookies on top of the cream mixture
Place pan on the top rack and in the middle of a preheated oven at 325 degrees
Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes (don’t over bake. There should be a 2-3″ wobbly spot in the middle of the cheesecake)
Turn off the oven and prop the oven door open-leaving the cheesecake in the oven for ONE hour.
Remove from oven and let cool (you want it to cool slowly before you put it in the fridge-don’t want it to cool too quickly)
Place in the fridge for 24 hours…really!
You wont regret making this
Our friends loved it
Most importantly my husband did too (since it was part of his father’s day dinner!)

I’ve got the bug!
I love making cheesecake!!!!
Now which flavor will I try next?

Check out what I made for the main course of our Father’s Day dinner

I’m impressed, I must say. Very rarely do I come across a blog that’s both informative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head.

Oreos and cheesecake together in one place? How could that be anything but good? I want this for breakfast tomorrow! Thank you for sharing the recipe.
