Well we did it! We have moved into our first home and I could not be more excited! It has been a long couple of months but we are finally in and all the hard work has paid off. We lived in our rental for an extra couple months while we were busy painting our whole house every chance we could get. It is amazing the transformation that a new paint color can have on a room! I’m really excited to share all the changes we have made with you, but today I’m going to share my son’s room. We transformed it from the original lime green to the perfect blue grey paint color.

We just moved in and haven’t had a lot of time to look for accessories but he is so excited about his new room, his new paint color, and his new bedspread! If you have any tips for decorating a boy’s room let me know because I keep drifting over to the girls section. Why? I have no idea, because I don’t have girls. I think it’s because there are so many options that I’m just drawn to being a girly girl myself. Somehow I have to summon the thoughts and attitude of a 5-year-old boy so we can get his room absolutely perfect.
The original owners of this home had it painted a lime green with one of the walls being covered in huge white circle stickers. Now I love lime green, but I don’t think I could concentrate in a room like that!

We painted the master bedroom a very true grey color, which I love, but I wanted to paint our boys’ rooms colors that were not anywhere else in the house to help them feel like it was their own! This bedroom is painted in Glidden Complete’s Silver Reflection. It’s more of a blue grey paint color, and it’s on the darker side. I loved this color because it really makes the white trim pop, and a lot of natural light comes in so it doesn’t feel dark. My baby’s room doesn’t have as much natural light so I needed a color that was a bit lighter.
This is the perfect gray, used in my kitchen and now in my bathroom.

Oh, that gray is so much better than the lime by miles! I’m always so hesitant with paint color, I don’t trust my color “instinct” or lack there of 😉 but I really love the idea of gray! (found you via the Sits Girls Share Fest)
