One you’ve seen before I’m sure, maybe even tried yourself
One you’ve seen before I’m sure, maybe even tried yourself
I remember the first time I had this soup. One of our neighbors brought it to our family after my grandpa passed away when I was 7…that was a long time ago! After a few changes here and there, here’s our tried and true recipe!
taco soup
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 pkg. mild taco seasoning mix
1 (16 oz) can corn, niblets
1 (16 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (28 oz) can stewed tomatoes
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
Tortilla chips, shredded cheese, sour cream, avocado slices
Directions
Brown ground beef and onion in a large saucepan. Drain. Stir in taco seasoning, corn, kidney beans, stewed tomatoes and tomato sauce. Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. Serve topped with chips, cheese, sour cream, and avocado slices, as desired.
Makes about 8 servings
