I think this fall I’m going to spend more time cooking and baking than I did during the summer, and I look forward to it. You should too! Let’s start that little tradition off with this amazing recipe!

Which is it?
Texas Sheet Cake or 30-Minute Cake, whichever you like to call it, it's the Best Chocolate Cake ever!

Whatever you want to call it, I’m going with the best cake ever! It’s a good thing I gave half of it away because my husband can pound this cake like nobody’s business.

Let’s be honest, so can I.

Texas Sheet Cake

2 sticks butter
1 cup water
5 Tbsp cocoa
2 c flour
2 c sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla

  • Bring to boil: butter, water and cocoa
  • Pour over flour and sugar in a mixing bowl, mix well
  • Combine: buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla
  • Combine buttermilk mixture with chocolate mixture
  • Pour into greased cookie sheet pan at 400 degrees for 20 minutes

1 stick butter
4 Tbsp coca
6 Tbsp milk
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

  1. Bring to boil: butter, cocoa and milk
  2. Add powdered sugar and vanilla
  3. Spread while cake is hot!
Now I’m going to go eat another piece!
