Back To School Routine: Lunches

This year my son started Kindergarten. Full time! I can’t believe it. He went to pre-school so I’m definitely used to making school lunches, but I’m not used to making them everyday. With this new full-time schedule I’ve really noticed a difference in how tired he is each night, especially if he has soccer! Which means he usually wakes up a little late despite having an early bed time. This has made our Back To School Routine a little hectic some mornings.

I’ve done several things to help make our mornings stress free because I want him to enjoy school! We takes baths and set out his clothes the night before, I’ve even gotten breakfast orders the night before so it’s ready when he gets up! One of my favorite new back to school routine ideas I’ve thought of is preparing lunches once a week!
I’m all for having one less thing to do in the morning, and this has helped!

Back To School Routine

  1. Take baths the night before
  2. Set out clothes the night before
  3. Decide on what’s for breakfast the night before
  4. Prepare lunches once a week

My husband and I really pride ourselves in teaching our boys how to make good choices when it comes to there food. It’s been really amazing to watch my 5-year-old not finish his dessert “because it’s too much sugar.” I for sure didn’t do that when I was 5! That’s why I was so excited to partner with Horizon for this post, because I don’t have to think twice about any of their products. I know I’ve hit the jackpot when he asks for fruit crunchers for dessert!

I love the milk boxes because there is 8 grams of protein per box, a lot of calcium, and {my favorite} no high fructose corn syrup! Way better than juice! These are mom and dad approved in this house.

I got our Horizon Apple Fruit Crunchers and milk boxes at Walmart. You can find the milk boxes on the juice aisle, and your fruit crunchers near the dried fruit!

Which are you and your kids dying to try? The milk boxes or Apple Fruit Crunchers? …ok, if you said both we’re totally on the same page!
