I have downloaded so many “amazing apps” on my phone. Too many to count really. I had heard one of the best was VSCO. I got it, looked at it, noticed it wasn’t as user friendly as others and deleted it. Well now that I’ve done a lot of research and have a better understanding of photography and editing in general I decided to revisit the VSCO app.

In the image above you see the before and after photo. I took this photo late afternoon, right next to a window. As you can see from the original image, it was not light out at all, however, looking at the final product you would think this photo was taken with optimal lighting! Here’s what I did, step-by-step, using screen shots from my phone:

Can you believe the difference? Taking photos at the perfect time of day, when the sun is positioned just right, is not always possible. So don’t stress, and try these edits out! For me the brighter the better! Play around with the different settings and find out what you like best!
