Take it away Kendra!

With St. Patrick’s Day coming up, there’s certainly an abundance of recipes for
festive beverages circulating. Luckily, there is tasty and healthy St. Patrick’s Day
beverage recipes available, as I learned during my recent trip to Florida. After visiting
Miami, I wanted to take this fabulous smoothie back with me to Chicago to share
with friends and family.

After staying at the Fontainebleau, ranked amongst some of the top hotels in Miami,
I enjoyed a variety of diverse cuisine some delicious beverages. I definitely made
a wise decision in choosing the creamy Shamrock Shake. This shake is not only
decadent, but also nutritious and simple to concoct. This exquisite treat is bursting
with a bold blend of flavors and textures, which undoubtedly triggered my desire to
recreate it.

What Makes the Shamrock Shake Healthy?

Coconut milk forms the base of the Shamrock Shake, providing a thick texture.
Coconut milk is rich, delicious, and also highly praised by nutritionists for its
remarkable health benefits. Coconut milk contains medium-chain fatty acids, which
are known to improve digestion. Medical experts state that these fatty acids are
easily metabolized, making them an ideal food for nutrient absorption.

This shake also contains avocado, another great source for healthy, or
monounsaturated fats. Nutritionists also explain that avocados are beneficial
because they can prevent bodily inflammation. For a little sweetness, add a few
tablespoons of raw honey or stevia. Next, add a tablespoon of vanilla extract and a
teaspoon of peppermint extract for a minty, vanilla kick. Be sure to also add a cup or
so of ice to this shake for easier blending.

Now that you’ve learned about the nutritional benefits associated with this shake,
you’re ready to prepare it! Simply follow this recipe and blend everything together
until a smooth consistency is achieved. If you want to make this treat even more
festive, add a few drops of green food coloring, though the avocado provides a
lovely green tint on its own.

Ingredients:

– 1 avocado, peeled and seed removed
