Homemade Rice Pilaf

There are a lot of different variations you can make to this recipe!

Lipton’s has several flavored soups that would work:
Onion
Onion Mushroom
Savory Herb with Garlic

Combine any of the soups mentioned above with any of these condensed soups:
Cream of Mushroom
Cream of Chicken
Golden Mushroom
Cream of Onion
Cream of Celery

Homemade Rice Pilaf
Ingredients

  • Two servings of cooked rice (brown rice makes the best results)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 can condensed soup
  • 1 pkg. Lipton’s onion soup mix

Instructions

  1. Cook rice according to instructions on package
  2. Place milk, condensed soup and Lipton’s soup mix in a large saucepan and bring to a boil
  3. Add cooked rice, cover with a lid and lower the temperature
  4. Cook for 20 minutes on low, stirring occasionally, this is to thicken the sauce
    1. This is why brown rice has the best results, because you cook it for an additional 20 or so minutes
    2. If you use white rice try turning off the heat, but keep the saucepan covered
