The other day my loving, amazing, almost perfect husband mentioned that I had once said I would never stop wearing heels even after having kids. I was in the process of debating between wearing heels or flats at the time. {That was not one of his more perfect moments in our 10 years together} I chose the flats!
I love my babies. More than anything, obviously. I also love my heels, but my style is a little more practical now. And no, chasing after a toddler in heels is not practical. That’s why I love date night! That’s when I pull out my pretty shoes.
One thing that hasn’t changed? Wearing contacts. If you remember, I recently switched to wearing ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses after my appointment at Target Optical®, and I love them! I’ve really noticed a difference in how comfortable they are at the end of the day. I was used to taking them off after dinner, or had to put eye drops in. That’s why I was so excited to try my ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses, I heard they stayed comfortable longer.
I don’t need one more thing to worry about, so I’m grateful I don’t have to wear glasses. Not wearing glasses allows me to more easily cuddle my babies. If you’re wondering, there are two things that a baby and toddler constantly tug at: glasses and jewelry. I don’t need to worry about my boys pulling at glasses, or wiping their sweet fingerprints off constantly.
Sweater, booties, backpack, and mirror all from Target
I needed to make a quick Target run for party supplies. I just needed to make sure I was home before my oldest got home from school.
Is it possible to be quick with two kids in tow? Ever?
As I was walking out the door my husband got home early from work and the boys got to stay home with him. So instead of wearing my joggers, tennis shoes and a sweatshirt I took advantage of my newfound freedom and changed into skinny jeans and booties, my new sweater and backpack {instead of a diaper bag} and didn’t have to worry about being in a hurry.
Going to Target is always like a mini vacation, but going to Target by yourself, when you’re not in a hurry or begging a toddler to stop hiding behind the mannequins, is like a dream I’ve never dared to dream.
Not only did I get everything I needed for the party but I also picked up this fabulous faux fur vest, and blouse. I’m a sucker for faux fur vests and bell sleeves.
Target just gets me!
It was a really great day! I got to go to Target alone, and make these super cute cookies for a fun party! It was the best.
Guess what! While I was making these cookies, I didn’t have to worry about glasses falling off and landing in my wet royal icing! It was awesome.
