It has been really interesting comparing this pregnancy to my first two pregnancies. With my first I felt like I had to buy absolutely everything. Somehow if I didn’t have the fanciest stroller, and enough outfits to last a month I was doing him a disservice. Not to mention my insecurity with how large I got while pregnant. I felt like I was doing something wrong! Even with my second I was a little insecure. This time around I know what to expect, know I’m not doing anything “wrong” and I laugh off all the comments I get from people. Like, “Oh, are you having your baby this month?” Not even close! I still have 3-1/2 months to go.
I’ve also noticed that my Baby Must Have List has gone way down! Which is ironic because when we had our first son my husband had not started his career yet. In fact he started grad school when our oldest was 9-months-old. It’s just funny that I felt like we needed everything when we didn’t have a dime to spare, and now I’m just looking for the necessities because who really needs three different bouncers, swings, and high chairs?
There’s nothing wrong with the excess, of course, just don’t feel like you’re doing something wrong if you can’t afford or choose not to buy the extra stuff. Either way you can rest assured that you will be able to find almost everything you need at Walmart! I still make frequent stops for my older boys.
