The Perfect Hard Boiled Egg

Sometimes making the perfect hard boiled egg isn’t as easy as one would think. I can’t even tell you how many times it hasn’t worked out for me. Embarrassing, I know!
Every time I made them I had to call my mom. For some reason I couldn’t remember how! Maybe it’s because I’m sleep deprived…we’ll go with that. One time I wrote the instructions down and put them somewhere safe, so safe, the next time I needed them I couldn’t find them anywhere.
Looking online proved useless because there are about 7,200 different ways to make them apparently. I have never had a successful hard boiled egg when I cooked them for 10 minutes…that’s not long enough. I always use large eggs…so that could be the reason. Anyway…
I am posting the directions today, even if it’s for my benefit more then anything but I hope you can benefit too.

  • I have the worst time with hard boiled eggs! Last time, I even just bought the premade ones at Costco and used those for deviled eggs. They were a lot more beautiful than mine ever are! But I will try it this way and see what happens!

  • I'm always willing to try a new method! Those little egg hearts are kinda amazing! Thanks for sharing wiht us at Fiesta Friday!

  • It amazes me how something so simple as boiling an egg doesn't always mean it works. Thanks for sharing the secret with us at #OvertheMoon Link Party. I've pinned and shared.

  • Ohhh... I always let mine boil for a few minutes before letting them sit, but I find they're hard to peel. I'll try this to see if they peel more neatly. Thanks for sharing at Funtastic Friday!

  • Oh so it should be 20 minutes. I only do 10, maybe that's why I don't get the right yolk hardness. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for sharing it over at Food Friday. Excited to see what you’ll be sharing next! :D

  • Good timing. I make mine this way too. Thanks for sharing at the Inspiration Spotlight party. Shared

  • Back to basics is always a good idea, it's easy to get the timing wrong and ruin your eggs! Thanks for sharing with FF:)
