It’s almost summer! Have you thought about summer camps for your little ones yet? It’s so unfortunate how much a child can forget during summer break if all they do is watch TV. It’s my goal to have as little “screen time” as possible this summer. There’s no better time for your little one to discover the big world than during the warm months of summer. One of my favorite quotes is from Albert Einstein and he says, “Play is the highest form of research.”
To me it really encompasses how important it is to let our little ones play, discover, and ultimately learn! I thought it would be fun to show you how my little guy likes to discover and learn!
It is amazing to me how he can turn anything into a game! He and my sister took folding chairs, blankets and resistance bands and turned them into an obstacle course. He played for hours, and kept them up for days. It was pretty adorable. He tried his hardest not to touch the bands, but if he did he would pretend he got shocked! So creative.
He also loves to play in the garden! Shoveling the dirt, picking fresh fruits and vegetables, you name it he loves it! I can’t wait until we have a garden for him to discover and learn from.
If you’re still looking for ideas for filling your children’s day during the summer check out Camp Galileo. They have classes and activities tailored to children ages pre-K though 8th grade. By the end of the summer your child will have more confidence, a love of learning, and inspiration for the new school year. I can’t think of anything I would want more for my boy!
