As promised!
Here’s the dressing I used for the
Did you know that it’s ridiculously inexpensive to make your own dressing?
When you make a recipe do you ever think to yourself “What? Those ingredients are used in this?” That’s what I thought when I was making this dressing. And yes, these ingredients are used, and they are spectacular together!
Poppyseed Dressing
recipe source: allrecipes
Ingredients:
1/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground dry mustard
1 teaspoon grated onion
1 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
In a blender combine the sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard and onion and mix together well
Gradually add the oil, in a slow steady stream
Stir in poppy seeds
Pretty simple!

My Poppyseed Dressing is without poppy seeds!
Turns out I didn’t have any poppy seeds, and the only container the grocery store had was like 16oz. and cost $6.50. All I needed was 1tsp folks, wasn’t going to spend that much money for 1tsp. Might as well buy the dressing for that price!
Believe it or not it was still good with out the little guys!
I can’t wait to post the recipe for the Cinnamon Toasted Almonds tomorrow!
You wont want to miss it, I promise!
*I found some poppyseeds at Wal Mart…so now my Poppyseed Dressing is legitimate

I LOVE this! I think the best tasting dressings are always homemade and I’m always on the look out for new, easy ones. And, if I can make a poppysead dressing without any poppy seads even better. Thanks for sharing and happy new year!

Thanks for joining us at Creative Mondays I have never tried this sounds great idea 🙂
I hear ya on the cost of poppy or sesame seeds for that matter. Here is a tip, if you have an asian grocery store near you – their prices for these items are much more reasonable. 🙂
