Recipe modified from Your Homebased Mom
Ingredients & Directions
Rolls:
12 frozen Rhodes dinner rolls, thawed (I used a Rhodes loaf of bread and cut it into 12 pieces)
grated orange rind
1/2 C sugar
Directions
Thaw dough according to directions (See tip below)
Grate orange rind and mix with sugar
Roll thawed roll in melted butter and then in sugar mixture
Place on greased cookie sheet or pan, cover with plastic wrap and allow rolls to double in size
Remove plastic wrap and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes
Let cool 5 minutes and frost with citrus glaze while still warm
Citrus Glaze:
1 C powdered sugar
1 T melted butter
2 T orange juice
Mix together until smooth
TIP: Your dough will rise faster in the oven. Turn the oven to the lowest setting (mine is 175 degrees) for just a few minutes, then turn it off. You must turn it off! If you don’t you’ll have hard rolls! Place the dough in the center of the oven. Allow it to rise until almost doubled. Remove the dough from the oven and preheat it to the desired temperature. While the oven preheats, the dough will finish its rising.
