Sugared Blueberries make the perfect cake toppers! They are not difficult, they’re edible and taste delicious. I can’t wait to try this out with cranberries for a Christmastime cake. Isn’t this beautiful?
I love pairing these yummy Sugared Blueberries with my Lemon Blueberry Cake and Candied Lemon Peels Slices
I had so much fun making the entire thing, and the presentation is out of this world…which is what we want, right? Well it’s what I want!
If you get the presentation down then more people will be drawn to trying it over the other desserts.
Sugared Blueberries
Ingredients
- Blueberries
- 1 Egg white
- 1 cup sugar
Instructions
Whip the egg white until it has soft white peaks and pour in the blueberries
Pull each blueberry out individually and toss in the cup of sugar until each berry is entirely coated in sugar. Lay each on a wooden board or pan without letting them touch each other
Leave them to air dry for a couple of hours, or if your’e in a hurry, put them into the oven on a low temperature with the door left open. The sugar and egg whites will set and be hard to touch, resulting in a crunch, sugar coating around each blueberry.
Your friends and family will be so impressed by your cake making abilities they will for sure want to know your secret! I can guarantee it will be a crowd pleaser if you make pair these sugared blueberries with my candied lemon slices, and top them on my delicious Lemon Blueberry Cake. Don’t forget the light strawberry whipped cream frosting! It’s perfect for this dense cake. Making it not too heavy, and not too light!
Try making these during the holidays with cranberries. Add a dusting of powder sugar and it will look like freshly fallen snow!
Almost too beautiful to eat!!! …Almost.
How long do these last for?
