I think this fall I’m going to spend more time cooking and baking than I did during the summer, and I look forward to it. You should too! Let’s start that little tradition off with this amazing recipe!
Whatever you want to call it, I’m going with the best cake ever! It’s a good thing I gave half of it away because my husband can pound this cake like nobody’s business.
Let’s be honest, so can I.
Texas Sheet Cake
Ingredients
2 sticks butter
1 cup water
5 Tbsp cocoa
2 c flour
2 c sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Bring to boil: butter, water and cocoa
- Pour over flour and sugar in a mixing bowl, mix well
- Combine: buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla
- Combine buttermilk mixture with chocolate mixture
- Pour into greased cookie sheet pan at 400 degrees for 20 minutes
Frosting
Ingredients
1 stick butter
4 Tbsp coca
6 Tbsp milk
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Bring to boil: butter, cocoa and milk
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla
- Spread while cake is hot!
