I had Amish Friendship Bread a few years ago and I loved it! I’m pretty sure I kept all the starters you’re supposed to share with friends, because I loved it so much. I couldn’t bare parting ways with the starters because I loved this bread so much. Not really how it works, but hey, whatever. So here’s my Amish Friendship Bread Without Starter recipe.
I have looked and looked for a recipe that didn’t require a starter, because taking five days to make it just wasn’t cutting it.
Finally! Now there’s Amish Friendship Bread Without Starter

Did I miss it? How many loaves does the recipe make? I wish I had seen this before last Friday, I had to make 12 loaves on Friday. Needless to say I was baking all day. I can't wait to try this recipe, I was just wondering how many loaves I would get in one recipe.
Thank you
When mixing batter i don't see vinegar added to the batter so I am going to exclude it
Hey Diane! I hope you found success when you made the Amish Friendship Bread. The vinegar is used to make your own Buttermilk if you don't have any on hand. You can make Buttermilk by combining milk with vinegar. However, if you have Buttermilk then there's no use for the vinegar. I hope that makes sense. Let me know how you liked the recipe!
Salted or unsalted butter?
Bake @ 350 for 55 Minutes comes out perfect.
Do you think you could mix the batter the night before and bake in the morning?
I'm sure you could try it. However, batter usually does better at room temperature. So you may want to let the batter sit for a while, then mix it up again. Let me know how it works!!!
Excellent information. Write more about this for us.
Made this tonight. While it smelled wonderful in the house I didn't like that the top didn't come out very smooth after doing the swirl thing. Next thing I will just mix it all in the batter so it will be another less crumbs.... Otherwise it's a keeper here
This brings back memories of all the food storage bags in my freezer filled with Amish bread starter. It would get harder and harder to "give it away" since everyone else in my circle's freezers looked the same. lol.
This looks great! I have pinned! Thanks for sharing.
