International Home and Housewares Show 2015

International-Home-And-Housewares-2015-youtubeI had the amazing opportunity to attend the International Home and Housewares Show 2015 in Chicago this month. I was truly amazed to see so many great products. The creativity of all the great companies that were involved was mind blowing.

Today I’m going to share my top three inspired finds.

My Top Three Inspired Finds at the International Home and Housewares Show 2015

Number 3 —> OXO GOOD GRIPS
OXO Good Grips Greensaver Crisper Filter, White, 1-Pack
OXO Good Grips Activated Carbon Refills, Brown, 4-Pack
OXO Good Grips Greensaver Produce Keeper, Small, White
OXO Good Grips Greensaver Crisper Filter, White, 2-Pack

OXO-Crisper-InsertAnything that will help me prolong the life of my produce is life changing as far as I’m concerned. We do have two drawers in our fridge that I can adjust the humidity for but I love that this product actually absorbs the ethylene gas that causes produce to rot. Even better, each lasts 90 days, which is a really long time!

IHHS-OXOOXO also has these individual baskets for purchase too. They’re perfect for anything from a big container of grapes from Costco, to a small container of raspberries. They even have one that is extra long that you can put lettuce and celery in.OXO-IHHSThe basket is one of the most important aspects of this entire set up! The basket keeps the produce away from the moisture, which in turn helps prolong the life of your produce.

More about the Greensaver Crisper Filter:

  • Mounts to crisper wall to control ethylene levels and promote proper airflow in your crisper drawer
  • Activated carbon filter absorbs ethylene gas, is all-natural and made from coconuts and lasts up to 90 days
  • Sliding date indicator keeps track of when it’s time to replace the carbon filter
  • Suction cups or tape allow you to place insert above produce in crisper to ensure maximum absorption

I really loved this product because I hate nothing more than throwing out fresh food two days after purchasing it.

As you can imagine, I love dishware. I actually really, truly find it inspiring. Nothing inspires me to make a yummy cupcake quite like an adorable cake plate! haha. There were a lot of different dishes on display for a lot of different vendors but I found myself spending a lot more time at BIA Cordon Bleu.

  • Established in 1952, B.I.A. Cordon Bleu is a leading manufacturer of porcelain and stoneware serving accessories, bakeware and dinnerware. With classic and contemporary shapes, as well as unique glazes, hand painted patterns and designs, B.I.A. #1 —> CURIOUS CHEF

Curious Chef was #1 on my list of most inspiring finds because teaching my children in every possible way is the most important thing to me and my husband, and I feel like these products help make children excited! About a year ago I was walking through IKEA with my son and he was begging me to get him a spatula…to this day he still wants to use “his” spatula every time he helps me in the kitchen. I can’t even imagine how happy and excited he would be if he had a lot of his own products!!!

Curious Chef is the only company in the market that has real kitchen tools designed especially for kids in mind. I absolutely love baking and cooking with my son, and he loves it too. He seriously asks if he can help me everyday.  I have found it’s a really fun way for me to teach him and for him to learn. While I was cracking a hard boiled egg the other day he asked why some of it was yellow and the rest was white. There are always opportunities to teach and having a product that makes kids so excited about something only helps. Teaching my children to be self sufficient is really important to me. I don’t want to have to cook every meal when they’re teenagers…or do their laundry. haha.

Honorable Mentions at the International Home and Housewares Show 2015

Dessert Diva and Fold-n-Store! Let’s be honest, I seriously love cake balls but have had a hard time finding a good way to transport them. I would stick them in Styrofoam but you can’t use styrafoam very much after you’ve put holes in it, and it’s kind of expensive! So I actually love this product. And the fold-n-store is just awesome. On more than one occasion I have been frustrated by the fact that I have a huge container storing one piece of cake. This thing folds in half! For reals, that is amazing.

Last but not least Ree Drummond of Pinoeer Woman has a new line of dishware out. It’s perfect for mixing and matching, which I love!!!
