Maple Bars

In Connecticut, and back east in general, Dunkin’ Donuts are e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. turns out. We went there and grabbed a donut quick one morning for breakfast-WAY healthy, but oh so good. Then we went to a cute little local shop a different morning and they had donuts too. I don’t get donuts very often but if I do I get maple bars! I love maple bars. I can’t tell you why, and it hasn’t always been the case.
ha, that sounds like The Most Interesting Man In The World commercial for Dos Equis…”I don’t always eat donuts, but when I do I prefer maple bars. Stay hungry my friends.”
So you can understand my disappointment when I walked into both storefronts and they didn’t have maple bars. No, they weren’t out! They didn’t make them! What? Who doesn’t make maple bars? Especially a big chain like Dunkin’ Donuts. I know they make them, so are they too cool for school in CT? I guess I can think of it as a good thing…now I wont be eating donuts while we live there! 🙂 well not as much anyway.
I did try a Chocolate Coconut and it didn’t disappoint!
Have you tried a bacon maple bar? When I first saw one they totally grossed me out, and I didn’t try it, and now that’s all I can think about.
I may have to make a batch of cupcakes. I’ve made donut cupcakes before, and now I just need to find a recipe for maple frosting!

Donut cupcake
Bacon
Maple frosting
Sweet! I can eat cupcakes for breakfast instead of pancakes
Sounds about right

PS if you have, or know where I can find a maple frosting recipe please leave a comment!!!! Please?
